Alpha Project for the Homeless - Temporary Bridge Shelter Program Program Policies and Contractual Obligations
If you happen to be accepted into the tent shelter between East Village and Barrio Logan in Downtown San Diego, these are the rules, enforced in full.

- Staff members and other residents are to be treated with respect at all times. Violence and/or threats of violence are not allowed in addition to any and all aggressive behaviors including the use of profanity, racial slurs, sexual or inappropriate comments and/or remarks, shouting and/or fighting
- Use of or possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and/or alcohol at any time on the property
- Staying out overnight without prior written approval from either Case Management or the Program Manager
- Possessing weapons in the shelter. They must be checked-in to Security
- Refusing to submit to a search
- No stealing
- Jeopardizing the safety of any other residents or staff - this includes but is not limited to burning candles or incense, causing fire hazards and any and all safety violations
- Clients must smoke in the designated areas
- Clients must maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions on a daily basis
- No misuse or destruction of Alpha Project property
- Alpha Project will not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property
- Showers are open from 5:00 A.M until 4:00 P.M. unless prior arrangements have been made
- Only 2 bags per person are allowed and they must be kept under the bed
- No hanging items on beds or bed posts
- No tampering with bed numbers, TV and other people's property
- Must wear an ID badge at all times on the property
- Keep the sleeping area clean
- Women and men cannot loiter in each others' sleeping area
- Meals are served at 5:00 P.M.
- Bicycles must be kept in the designated area at all times
- Upon exit or expulsion, Alpha Project will only hold personal property for 72 hours. If the property is not claimed within 72 hours, it will be disposed of
- Curfew is at 8:00 P.M. to reclaim your bed. Lights out at 10:00 P.M. from Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 P.M. Friday and Saturday. You must remain on-site after 8:00 P.M.
- No loitering outside the perimeter of the property
- Perimeter must be kept clean at all times
- Clients are not to use or possess illegal drugs at the shelter. Clients must comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws.
- Clients may not possess alcohol on the premises at any time.
- Clients must possess all prescription medication. Staff is NOT permitted to hold or dispense medication. The only exception is for diabetes; insulin or medication that must be refrigerated.
- All animals must be on a leash at all times. Clients must clean up after pet/pets. No bathing animals on the site.
